Tested Performance & Compliance:
• Air Tightness: Independently tested and proven air-tight in both positive and negative air pressures at 50 Pa. Test certified to BS EN 1026:2000 and BS EN 12207:2000 for ceiling applications.• Thermal Regulation: Insulated to fully comply with Part L of the Building Regulations (Conservation of Fuel and Power), essential for maximising property efficiency.

I agree with Steve on 11th November that fixing screws need to be smaller and recessed to avoid being struck by the hatch when it is closed. Apart from that it is easy to fit and looks very neat when finished.

I had a fair bit of trouble fitting it, but looking at other reviews it seems like it was probably me who is the only one who had problems. There is very little clearance between the door and the frame when the door is closed (I know this is because it's airtight), but this meant the screws that hold the frame to the joists clashed with the door on closing. I had to do a fair bit of screw removal/replacement and ended up not being able to use the rubber washers provided as they made the screws stand too proud. But now it's in it's looking and operating well (after 3 weeks).

A well-made solid product. Low-profile fairly descrete appearance when closed. Only the chrome-plated catch really sticks out of the otherwise flat finish. I've yet to be able to test it's air-tightness or thermal performance, but looking at the design I expect to need to add some solid insualtion around the perimiter above the frame to limit the cold-bridging. I also expect to add a seal (silicone bead) to the vapor-barrier as the fitted seal works to the plasterboard face. We are working to a very high standard of insulation on this project though.
