Control loft access in your HMO with this secure key lockable hinged loft hatch. The width of 555mm is designed to fit 600mm joist centres, making this suitable for most properties. The 800mm long door is larger than standard residential loft hatches allowing easier access for maintenance and inspection. It complies with the fire safety and insulation requirements of the building regulations yet offers a simple, clean look to any property.

Opening / Closing

Twist the key lock a quarter turn and lower the hatch, the lid hinges downwards. The hinge is on the 555mm side, when open the loft hatch provides a clear opening of 539 x 694mm. To close, swing the lid upwards, press upwards against the airseal and twist the key lock back into the closed position. Please note the key lock is not compatible with our loft hatch opening pole.

Construction and finish

• Made from Zintec steel making this a robust product which will last for years under normal conditions
• Insulated with mineral wool (providing a U-Value of 0.32 W/m²K - this is better than the 0.35 required under Part L Building Regs)
• Supplied in a tough maintenance free powder-coated finish (colour white RAL9016)

Fitting

With the hatch door open, offer the hatch up into the loft opening. Ensure that the opening has been lined with a single layer of 12.5mm plasterboard. Screw fix through the pre-punched fixing holes. Fixing screws supplied. We recommend this is a 2 person job.
