The HDLHC is a Heavy Duty Loft Hatch Catch, fabricated from hardened steel to provide maximum durability and a superior, airtight compression seal for loft doors up to 18 mm thick.
Technical Performance & Operation:
• Construction: Made from heavy duty hardened steel, ensuring long-term reliability and strength, suitable for loft doors up to 18mm thick.• Airtight Sealing: Engineered with a chamfered cam mechanism that progressively applies pressure when closed, creating a high compression seal against draughts and achieving reliable airtight performance.
• Access Key: Features a Tri-drive centre and comes supplied with a matching alloy key. Note: this is a generic tri-drive key, not a security key.
• Installation: Designed for easy installation and supplied with quality fitting instructions.

• Finish: Please note: This product has a raw mill finish. The appearance of the finish may vary from batch to batch.• Accessories: A separate pole with an inset key is available to suit this lock for ground-level operation.

This catch is far more robust that some of the cheaper ones on the internet and can hold up a thick hatch door easily.

Loft hatch catch is great. it arrived very promptly and very well packaged.

If the plastic versions of this are just not strong enough, then this will do it. A little expensive but worth it for the strength.
