The SDS is a precision-made, bespoke metal loft hatch providing certified Fire Rating, superior airtightness, and full compliance with Building Regulations Part L.
Fire Integrity & Thermal Performance:
• Fire Rating: Certified for a One-Way Fire Rating, providing essential safety and integrity to the ceiling compartmentation.• U Value & Compliance: The lid contains 50mm of exposed mineral wool insulation, achieving a U value of 0.32 W/m²K, fully complying with Part L of the Building Regulations.
• Airtightness: Features a concealed seal and a specialised locking system to achieve an incredible airtightness rating, critical for energy efficiency.
Bespoke Sizing & Installation Guidance:
• Custom Sizing: The hatch is made to your exact measurements, requiring the length and width of the loft opening (joist to joist) in mm, with a 5mm deduction for fitting tolerance.• Frame & Protrusion: The hatch frame depth is 63mm (up into the loft), and the finished panel has a minimal protrusion of 7mm from the ceiling, ensuring a subtle, clean aesthetic.
• Dual Lock Recommendation: For widths exceeding 750mm on the hinge side, two locks are recommended to ensure a secure, tight draught seal.
Construction & Locking:
• Construction: Fabricated from corrosion-resistant 1mm Zintec Steel. All hinges and fixings are concealed.• Standard Lock: Tri-drive lock featuring an O-ring seal on the shaft for ultimate airtightness. Optional Key lockable version also available.
• SDS-FR-OS: Please note this product comes with 2 x Tri-Drive Locks.

A fantastic company who know about great customer service! The hatch door is simple to install and there's been an immediate difference to the temperature in my hall way. In my view every property should have one of these to stop hot air escaping out the home. I was going to get the insulation in my loft replaced but my new hatch - which is itself insulated and fits perfectly in the frame provided means I've saved myself a headache, saved a load of money and hopefully done more to help the environment. Message to government - make it mandatory for all households to have a well sealed loft door - it's a no brainer!

I install plenty of these hatches, they look fantastic, well made and good lead time. My only gripe would be packaging. I really dislike extruded polyestyrene its not environmentally friendly and is always messy.

Excellent product. All the info you need is on the website. Just make sure you think and plan how to fit it, adapting the hole if necessary and measure correctly. Easy to fit with 2 people

Excellent well made product. Delivered in the time stated and very well packed. Only drawback is the small supplied key which means stepladders are needed to open hatch.

Arrived promptly. Looks good and seals perfect. I underestimated how awkward it would be to lift it in position once the door was opened. How ever It is pointed out in the instructions that it is a two person job.Very pleased with the finished job.
