The SDS is a precision-made, bespoke metal loft hatch providing certified Fire Rating, superior airtightness, and full compliance with Building Regulations Part L.
Fire Integrity & Thermal Performance:
• Fire Rating: Certified for a One-Way Fire Rating, providing essential safety and integrity to the ceiling compartmentation.• U Value & Compliance: The lid contains 50mm of exposed mineral wool insulation, achieving a U value of 0.32 W/m²K, fully complying with Part L of the Building Regulations.
• Airtightness: Features a concealed seal and a specialised locking system to achieve an incredible airtightness rating, critical for energy efficiency.
Bespoke Sizing & Installation Guidance:
• Custom Sizing: The hatch is made to your exact measurements, requiring the length and width of the loft opening (joist to joist) in mm, with a 5mm deduction for fitting tolerance.• Frame & Protrusion: The hatch frame depth is 63mm (up into the loft), and the finished panel has a minimal protrusion of 7mm from the ceiling, ensuring a subtle, clean aesthetic.
• Dual Lock Recommendation: For widths exceeding 750mm on the hinge side, two locks are recommended to ensure a secure, tight draught seal.
Construction & Locking:
• Construction: Fabricated from corrosion-resistant 1mm Zintec Steel. All hinges and fixings are concealed.• Standard Lock: Tri-drive lock featuring an O-ring seal on the shaft for ultimate airtightness. Optional Key lockable version also available.
• SDS-FR-OS: Please note this product comes with 2 x Tri-Drive Locks.

Recieved this made to measure Loft Hatch. It was well packaged with addef protection in the packaging. Much sturdier than my original loft hatch. The inside of the door. door has good insulation attached to it . Not polystyrene as my previous door had. Well constructed with a hatch opening "key" on a long handle. Arrived within the time scale given. Overall a very satisfied customer. Would recommend using this company.

Good loft-hatch, although it's the first I've bought and fitted. One suggestion. Would be great if the door could be easily removed to make fitting easier. There may be some trick to it but I could figure it out!

This is my third hatch over 6years (3 loft spaces in 2 houses) and each product has been spot on. Followed their measuring guide and the hatch has fit just fine. Delivery as anticipated, well packed & no defects. Would recommend & would use again.

The product I purchased was a made to measure loft hatch with standard lock and frame and no insulated cover. I am very pleased with the product very good quality, easy to fit, looks good and works well.

A superb product, well made, well packaged and delivered within the stated time. Easy to fit and looks much neater than the old 1970s wooden hatch complete with architrave. The loft hatch and Jupiter Blue are highly recommended.

Being able to order custom dimensions helped greatly as our hatch aperture was irregularly sized. Savings were made avoiding joinery / restructuring. The product itself was well made, affordable and came in good time despite custom manufacture. Installation was possible easily with two people. Hopeful that it'll reduce airflow between living space and loft as intended (a significant insulation / heat loss / condensation issue).
