AT Airtight Loft Hatch

Brilliant product and the install was easy. The amount of draft from the loft it has reduced is amazing.

Excellent product. Well constructed/sturdy, very easy to fit, and good value. So much better than all the plastic alternatives.

Better than expected. Removed the old hatch, slotted this one into the hole and screwed it in to place. Less than half hour start to finish. I also ran a bead of clear silicone around the inside edge to further seal it to the joists. Looks very slick and it’s so much easier to use with a fixed loft ladder than the old push up hatch. I’m now going to order one for my mums house! Only negative comment would be to agree with another reviewer, the screws holes could be countersunk but it’s a small issue.

I am very pleased with my purchase, this loft hatch is superbly made and very well insulated. However, there is one small improvement needed which would make this absolutely perfect and that is……. the holes in the frame for the fixing screws need to be slightly counter sunk into the frame! Currently, even using screws with the very smallest heads, because the loft hatch is so precisely made the screws can foul the edge of the hatch. I managed to overcome this problem because I had a slight gap all around which enabled me to fix the hatch to the ceiling roof trusses with ‘Insta stick’ foam adhesive, the hatch and frame supported in place for a couple of hours and it is now as solid as a rock and every bit as good as screws if not better. I also managed to fit this myself with a little improvisation so it’s not necessarily a two person job you just need a little bit of thought as to how you will support the frame whilst adjusting it to fit. Four small battens of wood fitted to the ceiling just outside the edge of the frame that you twist to temporarily support the frame with the door open so that you can adjust and pack out if necessary. Overall I am very pleased with this product and would definitely purchase again.

Great hatch, well made and looks and works great in place. Found it a bit tricky to install as you can't remove the door to fit the frame, so need a second person to hold the door up whilst you fix the frame in place.

An excellent product that was delivered promptly and very well packaged. Simple instructions via pictures. If you are looking for a new, and insulated loft hatch, this is an excellent solution. Unfortunately for me this did not work because of the particular situation I was trying to use it in, and the timber structures above the ceiling. That said, I would unhesitatingly recommend this product for a normal ceiling structure.
