The "SP2" is a budget steel push-up 60-minute fire rated loft access hatch with a smooth simplistic design.
The loft access trap is finished with a powder coat onto zintec steel for a smooth white maintenance free surface. The loft hatch requires no painting and the frame fits flush to the ceiling.
Once the loft door is open, it has a very large clear opening of 712mm x 520mm to assist with storing bulky items, such as suitcases into the loft space.
The loft hatch lid is insulated with a substantial 100mm of fire resistant mineral slab to comply with the current building regulations of 0.35 "U" value.
The SP2 loft hatch is draught sealed between the frame and lid to virtually eliminate warm air leakage. It also reduces cold air and vapour leaking in from the loft.
The white colour of the loft hatch is RAL No. 9010 with 20% gloss.
The ceiling cut out (trim) size for the loft hatch is 755mm x 555mm.

Strictly compliant to the following regulations:
1 hour fire test to UKAS standards.
Exceeds Part "L" of the thermal building regulations to 0.35 "U" value.
NHBC compliant for attic doors, including 520mm clear opening in any direction.
The loft hatch is UKAS air infiltration tested without the need for extra sealant to the external frame and ceiling.
In addition:
The ceiling hatch insulation is CFC & HCFC free, ODP (ozone depletion) zero and compliant to Eco Homes standards of a GWP (global warming potential) rating of zero.
The SP2 loft access trap box packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard and 100% recyclable.
Please note the SP2 cannot be used with our loft ladders.

I think this is good. Not done an air test yet or tested the fire rating thankfully. Time will tell. Price was good.

Neat, quick and easy to fit, although I did have to adjust the latch slightly to close fully flush. If you don't have an assistant , use a couple of G clamps to hold whilst screwing to joists.

Good quality, keeps hall warmer, bit difficult to fit on your own, would recommend this product

Excellent quality loft hatch, metal construction with good insulation, the hatch fits well and is a huge improvement on the plastic cr@p than was fitted by builders

It's well made and as described . The fitting instructions are clear and the measurements given gave me an accurate fit into my ceiling . Very pleased and will use them again

Hatch arrived with damage, done presumably in transit. Spoke to Matt at Jupiter Blue who asked me to send photograph of the damage. Did this and he immediately replied to say that hatch was beyond repair and he would arrange for a new one to be sent. New hatch arrived 48 hrs later in perfect condition and looks the biz. Thank you Matt and Jupiter Blue.

Great loft hatch, feels strong and sturdy, looks brilliant, easy to fit to an existing hatch, easy job for me and another tool less than 5 minutes to fit
